My name is Eric Moats. I have the privilege and pleasure of introducing the next recipient of the Revere Alumni Association’s Distinguished Educator Award. Her name is Esther Allard. She was my first grade teacher at Bath School. She was a fun teacher. She had a knack of getting the most out of her students. She was like a grandmother to her students. Her instincts knew when to make you work or when to give you space.
Esther lived on a farm and loved animals. She allowed me to bring a lamb into school for Show ‘N Tell. Boy was I the cool dude at school that day!
For some students, you never forget the teacher that teaches you how to read. That teacher is someone special. She and her husband attended my wedding. Mrs. Allard’s husband, Stan, is here on her behalf. Her niece, Mary Ann Woodside is here to say a few words.
The Revere Alumni Association is proud to present this award to someone that positively influenced so many students over her teaching career. We are very grateful to have had Esther Allard be a significant part of our lives.
